BookRecorder

The BookRecorder App was created out of a need I had being a classroom teacher in Iceland.

Back in 2012, my 2nd graders all had iPads. While the technology had so much potential there were so many gaps to be filled. As they were learning to read, I knew that one way to get them interested in books was for them to listen to them. The problem was that we didn’t have enough audiobooks in Icelandic.

I also knew that in order for my students to become fluent readers, they needed to read to and for each other… so I created, along with two of my classmates, the app BookRecorder for children to rehearse their reading by recording it themselves.

BookRecorder is an audiobook recording app for students, teacher & parents, designed for iOS and was available
in the AppStore from 2014.
